Synopsis:

Set in a reimagined modern-day Korea governed by a constitutional monarchy, the story centers on Seong Hui Ju, a chaebol heiress who feels unfulfilled despite her wealth, and Grand Prince Yi An, a royal burdened by a title that defines him yet leaves him with little personal freedom.

Hui Ju, the second daughter of the country’s most powerful conglomerate, possesses beauty, intelligence, and a fiercely driven nature. However, her status as a “commoner” keeps her from attaining the prestige she desires. Determined to claim what she lacks, she enters a contract marriage with Yi An, seeking to elevate her position through royal ties. Their encounter becomes a pivotal moment, as both share similar inner struggles but have chosen very different paths in life.

The title of Grand Prince historically refers to a son of the king born to the queen, granting him noble status while placing him outside the direct line of succession. Yi An embodies this paradox—though of royal blood, he lives a restrained and lonely existence. As the second son, he has long suppressed his true feelings and ambitions, yet he remains admired by the public for his grace and quiet charisma. Having grown used to concealing his true self, his world begins to shift when Hui Ju enters his life, challenging him in ways no one else has before.
