Flourished Peony (2025)

Summary: Set in the Tang Dynasty, it recalls the legendary and inspiring story of a woman who cultivated peonies and finally benefitted the rest of the world. He Wei Fang, a merchant’s daughter, divorced from a marriage based only on benefits with the assistance of Jiang Chang Yang, a Chang’an official. They met again by coincidence in Jingcheng.

He Wei Fang formed a partnership of craftsmen and investors with Jiang Chang Yang based on her exceptional skills in producing rare peonies and amazing commercial acumen. She began her business by producing peonies and guided a group of women from disadvantaged backgrounds to co-own a flower shop and develop a brand. He Wei Fang gradually realized that he was a general for the country, who was pure on the exterior, clever on the inside, and concerned about the world.

He Wei Fang, having witnessed personally the struggles of the poor and hardworking people, was resolved to turn the industry into one that benefits them. He Wei Fang regularly assisted Jiang Chang Yang on his path to national service, and the two eventually established a secret love. Following a near-death experience, the two collaborated to put down a rebellion before retreating into the realms of heaven and earth.
