Synopsis:

When he met Cheng Shao Shang on a mission to capture a fugitive in a rural village, Ling Bu Yi—the foster son of Emperor Wen and a gifted and vicious general of the Black Armour Army—was on a personal mission to unearth hidden truths about the past that had resulted in the massacre of an entire city and of his clan.

The youthful Cheng Shao Shang was abandoned when her parents departed to participate in the conflict. She had been a pain in her grandmother’s and aunt’s sides, neglected and illiterate, until her parents unexpectedly returned after several years on the front lines.

Shao Shang had been eager to see her parents again since she had never had a loving family, but the years of isolation had unavoidably caused some distance. But Shao Shang is unaffected and eager to live for herself, and many in the city, including Ling Bu Yi, start to notice her wild and daring attitude as well as her sharp mind.
