Synopsis:
Set in 1930s Shanghai, Wei Ruo Lai, an average employee at the Kuomintang Central Bank, climbs through the ranks due to his outstanding talents, which draw the notice of senior adviser Shen Tu Nan. However, when he battles corruption in the Kuomintang’s financial sphere, his path diverges from Shen Tu Nan’s. A accidental meeting with Shen Jin Zhen prompts him to make new decisions.
Wei Ruo Lai is sent to Jiangxi as part of the Party’s strategy and becomes an essential figure in the non-military campaign to break the Kuomintang’s economic blockade on the Central Soviet Area. This chronicles his transformation from a Kuomintang insider to a strong red financier under the Communist Party’s steadfast direction.
